Suddenly
sud·den·ly (adverb) quickly and unexpectedly.
God has been speaking to me lately. He has been speaking the word suddenly to me. The first couple of times, I thought it was just me but then I heard it, again and again. My mind would wander, I'd begin to worry about our circumstances and I would hear, "Suddenly." I did share with my husband and a close friend that I felt like God had dropped this word into my spirit but even as I shared, I wasn't quite sure that I hadn't maybe just lost my mind. Because God knows me and knows that I experience doubts, He confirmed to me that He was, in fact, speaking this simple, yet powerful word to me.
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." John 10:27
A couple of nights ago, I put on an audio sermon by Dr. Tony Evans titled, "Divine Reversals." As always Pastor Evans was delivering some good word, based on Biblical wisdom and principles. Which is just what I needed. About 15 minutes in, he shouts the word "Suddenly!" The sermon dropped this seed of knowledge in my spirit, God is a God of timing and when it is time, your breakthrough will come to pass...suddenly.
"So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ." Romans 10:17
I began to cry. My God, my Heavenly Father, my Lord is speaking to me. Speaking this one word. This one word that in another context may mean nothing, but in the context of my life, my circumstances, this moment, it means everything.
"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future." John 16:13
God has my family in a position where we need to pray for everything. It was not rebellion that led us here. It was our obedience. I am confident that we are in His will, despite the fact that our circumstances are less than ideal and almost daily I experience fear, confusion, frustration, doubt, or worry. God always finds a way to bring me back and fill me with hope. Sometimes all it takes is one word.
"Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come." Jeremiah 33:3
I don't know what He has in store for us, but deep down in my spirit, that spark of hope feels more like a flame. I can sense that a change is upon us. My family is about to enter a new season. I feel confident that our suddenly has arrived.
With Love,
Stacey
