Be Bold Children of God

I tend to stay away from risk taking. The idea of venturing out of my comfort zone usually results in a lot of worry and angst. I have been finding, however, that the Lord doesn't want me to stay confined to the boundaries I create for myself. He's been encouraging me to step outside my comfort zone, to push myself to do things that might make me uncomfortable or that might even result in failure. What He has been teaching me is that when you take a step in faith, you aren't taking a risk at all.

"What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?" James 2:14

It's the fear of failure, the unknown, the uncertainty that has held me back in many areas of my life. I limit myself because I let fear control my actions, which in most cases results in inaction.

"This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

The Lord wants me to continuously grow, expand, explore, improve, progress and develop in all areas of my life. He wants me to trust Him enough to take steps in faith. It pleases Him very much when I am able to find the strength and the courage to do things despite my fears.

"And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him." Hebrews 11:6

I've discovered that He blesses me in ways that I never imagined or thought possible when I take even the smallest steps in faith. Because He wants me to walk in faith in all areas of my life, stepping outside of my comfort zone and trusting that my Heavenly Father is there to guide me, direct me, and keep me in His will is essential to my spiritual maturity.

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1

The Lord doesn't care if I fail. What He truly cares about is the fact that I trust in Him enough to walk by faith, and not by what I see and especially not by fear.

"For we walk by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7

As a child of God, I do not need to base my decisions on fear. My actions and reactions are based on my faith, my hope and my love for my Heavenly Father.

"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58

I find that when I fill my spirit with His word and spend alone time with Him, I am filled with a boldness, a fierceness and a desire to be all that He created me to be. The Lord wants me to be bold, confident, courageous, to live righteously and to walk in faith, standing firmly on His promises.

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13

Be bold children of God. You can do all things through Christ, who strengthens you. This is His promise to us as His children.

With Love,

Stacey
