Do Not Grow Weary

While listening to a sermon the other day the pastor said something that has really stuck with me, "Jesus was never in a hurry because He knew God had a plan."

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven" Ecclesiastes 3:1

I had never thought about that before. Having read and heard the stories about Jesus many times, I never once thought about how He was never in a rush, never questioned the Lord's timing or His plans. He trusted His Father in Heaven, which allowed Him to obey His every command and to do it with peace and confidence.

"For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me." 6:38

In all honesty, I do often question God's timing. Lately, I've been asking if He has forgotten about me and my family or if He is hearing my prayers and my cries for breakthrough and for change.

"Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD." Psalm 27:14

Trusting the Lord's timing is one of the most difficult things for me to do. When looking at things from my perspective, it seems as if a change in our circumstances is overdue and that God is running late.

"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9

Yesterday while meditating and praying about these things, I heard the Lord clearly say, "I will not let you miss your blessings." In that moment, I knew He was reassuring me about His timing.

"For there is a time and a way for everything, although man's trouble lies heavy on him." Ecclesiastes 8:6

This season has been a difficult one for myself and my family, one of the most challenging that I can remember but I know there is a purpose for all that He allows. There is also purpose in His timing. He may never reveal the reasons why to me, but in His word, He does promise that everything He does is for my good. This includes Him asking me to wait.

"For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay." Habakkuk 2:3

It is not always easy to wait on the Lord, but it is always for my best. This is true for all of His children.

With Love,

Stacey
