Patient Endurance
I’ve been working on a furniture piece now for a couple of weeks. It has taken longer than expected to complete and I found myself feeling frustrated and discouraged. While working on the piece tonight, the Lord used this experience to teach me parallel lessons that applied to my own life and current circumstances.
“Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God's will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.” Hebrews 10:36
I felt the Lord encouraging me tonight. He reminded me that His divine timing is perfect and that He blesses the patient. He showed me the parallel lessons between taking each necessary step, patiently and thoughtfully while working on my furniture just as He wants me to do in my own life.
”Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24
He reminded me that all that I do, I do for Him. I am working for the Lord not for myself, not for man. Even if no one else sees my efforts, the Lord watches over me and acknowledges each step in the process, every detail. Nothing that I do in this life goes unnoticed by my Father.
“So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up.” Galatians 6:9
The Lord sent me encouragement tonight because He knows me. The Lord knows my every thought, my secret desires, my doubts, my fears and my heart. What a great comfort it was when He sent me to this scripture above. My Father knows me. He knows what I need when I need it. This is true for all of His children.
With Love,
Stacey
